Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has officially declared May 28th, Youm-e-Takbir, a public holiday in recognition of Pakistan’s unyielding defense capabilities.
As per the details, the schools, colleges, and higher education institutions will remain closed tomorrow, Tuesday, May 28 in connection with Youm-e-Takbir.
The notification issued by the Cabinet Division states that “Cabinet Division’s Circular No. 10-02/2023-Min.II dated December 20, 2023, has been amended with respect to official and discretionary holidays for the year 2024. The Prime Minister has expressed happiness by announcing May 28, 2024, across the country.
Additionally, as per the government announcement, all private and public institutions across the country will also remain closed for a day.
Yom Takbir will be celebrated with national fervor on Tuesday as the nation commemorates the historic day when Pakistan conducted nuclear tests at Chagai. Known as Yum Takbir, this day symbolizes the achievement of strong defense capabilities and regional stability through a balance of power.
